COC Metro Worship and Production is one team dedicated whole-heartedly to leading people into the presence of God, by the expression of our love for Him.

Why We Sing

We believe at COC that singing is one way in which we worship God for who He is, what He has done, is doing, and is going to do. We see through scripture that God is constantly using music as a way to celebrate Himself. (1 Chronicles 15:16, Psalm 30:4, Psalm 33:2, Ephesians 5:19)
We believe also that music is a powerful tool in the communication of the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. So we seek to sing truth, that is, songs that line up scripturally in depicting who Christ is, and declare the glory of God.

What We Sing

We feel it is important that the songs we sing are sound scripturally first. We see in John 4:23 that Christ tells the woman at the well that the Father desires His true worshipers to worship Him in spirit and in truth. The idea here is that those who are followers of Christ would worship Him with affection and that they would also worship Him through His word, the Bible. This is first and foremost of the songs we sing. After this, style, whether contemporary, traditional, new songs, or hymn is really just a matter of preference.

At COC many of the songs we sing will be in a contemporary style. While we still cherish the hymns, and we still love to sing them, many times they may sound different. This does not mean that other ways are bad or wrong or that we believe the way we do them is the only correct way.

How to Get Involved

First of all thank you for your interest in serving in the worship ministry at Church of Celebration. Our desire is to have people lead in worship who are passionate about God, and find their joy in Christ alone. We seek worshipers, not performers. We look for leaders who have joy in Christ, who are authentic on and off the stage (John 4:23), who are humble (Romans 12:3), and who are longing to proclaim the greatness of Christ (2 Timothy 4:2)!
